Music Director

Peter Donald

Our current Music Director is the multi talented Peter Donald who joined us in January 2015
Peter, who lives on the NSW Central Coast, has been playing and teaching music for most of his life, starting with his first violin lessons at six years of age and then graduating to violin teaching at the tender age of fifteen.
After matriculation, Peter followed his passion and chose to study music at university with a major in Performance. He also subsequently taught at the Conservatorium of Music.
Peter has had wide exposure to various forms of musical expression, having directed many orchestras and choirs over the years, but it wasn’t until 2013 that he “got hooked” on the Barbershop style of a Capella singing and his love of Barbershop has grown exponentially since then to the stage where he readily admits to being a Barbershop " Tragic!"
As well as directing Hills Harmony Chorus,  Peter also sings in the well-known, Hills Harmony based  men’s quartet "Highjacked",  and in the mixed quartet "Accelerando" with his wife and two daughters. He also still plays a very mean electric violin at every opportunity. If you ask him nicely, he will also perform a violin interlude during our Chorus concerts providing our audiences with some exciting musical diversity to our Chorus performance.
